Zuzanna Kraszewska, Co-President

BSc Accounting and Finance
Zuzanna is a co-organiser of the LSE SU Polish Economic Forum and member of the Academy of European Financial Congress. She completed a game theory course at Brown University and various art courses at Central Saint Martins. She is passionate about mathematics and film. She is interested in fields where creativity is combined with a quantitative approach.

Aleksandra K. Wiśniewska, Co-President

BSc Politics and Philosophy
Aleksandra, an idealist aware of dangers of a utopian pursuit, sees the LSE SU PBS as an opportunity to turn ideas into reality. She studied in Italy, representing Poland in a UWC movement enhancing international cooperation, gained extensive experience working for the NGO sector, and lived on site with the Zapatista Army in Mexico. She is captivated by literature, political theory and metaphysics.

Filip Balawejder, Treasurer

BSc Economics
Filip is a student of BSc Economics. He is Treasurer of the LSE SU Polish Business Society, with an interest in public policy, economics of growth and political economy. In summer 2014 he interned as data analyst at Experian PLC in London. Filip speaks German and Russian and loves Stanley Kubrick and the Rolling Stones.

Christopher Cmoch, Secretary

BSc International Relations
Christopher is a third year BSc International Relations student at LSE. His main interests cover the topics of modern history and European politics. Having spent the summer working for UK Trade and Investment at the British Embassy in Warsaw, he now holds the position of Secretary in the LSE SU Polish Business Society. In his spare time, Christopher enjoys cycling and hiking, particularly in the Tatra Mountains.

Marta Pawińska, Sponsorship and Partnership Coordinator

BSc Mathematics with Economics
A third year student at the LSE. She has been involved in the society since 2012, firstly, as an executive officer, then a Vice President and now a Sponsorship and Partnership Coordinator. Her biggest hobby is dancing. Her favourite styles include ballroom and salsa.

Michal Azarkiewicz, Registration Officer

MSc Comparative Politics
Michal’s interests lie at the intersection of international politics and development with an emphasis on the EU and Latin America. He holds a BA in Spanish and French, and an MA in European Studies. He has worked on sustainable development projects in Guatemala and Nicaragua, and is currently working on a gold mining project for the Fairtrade Foundation.

Maciej Blasiak, LSE SU PBS Career Starter Officer

MSc Political Economy of Europe
Maciej is passionate about European public policy. His knowledge of politics and economics gives him a unique perspective on the EU. He was a stagiaire in the European Parliament and Polish Embassy in London. He is responsible for the internship programme in the Society.

Michał Heydel, Marketing Officer

BSc Statistics with Finance
Michał grew up in Kraków, Poland and currently is a first year BSc Statistics with Finance student at LSE. He has a strong for passion for politics, finance and development studies. Besides studying, he is a ski instructor and devotes every spare moment of his time in the winter to skiing.

Marta Kozielska, Communication Officer and LSE SU PBS for Happy Kids NGO Officer

BSc Social Anthropology
Marta is a first year undergraduate in BSc Anthropology. Previously, she studied in Central Poland, Oregon, USA and Manchester. She has been involved in EYP and MUN. She is a member of several charitable organisations which aim to pursue the goal of conquering difficulties faced by those originating from disadvantaged backgrounds – Happy Kids, Manchestarz, Oakwood Youth Club. Marta is currently a Debate Mate employee in London.

Artur Lazoryk, Entertainment Officer

BSc Management
Artur is a first year undergraduate studying Management at LSE. Before coming to London, he attended High School No. 3 in Gdynia but his hometown is Bydgoszcz. In times when he’s free from writing essays and reading articles he enjoys mountain biking and swimming.

Cezary Łastowski, Workshops Officer

BSc Economics
Cezary is a student of Economics at Cardiff University particularly interested in monetary policy and the EU, who loves playing the vibraphone. He is an active member of the Federation of Polish Societies in the UK. He is based in Bristol and currently working for PwC in Assurance.

Kamila Nowakowicz, Workshops Officer

BSc Mathematics and Economics
Kamila is originally from Warsaw, where she finished the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme with a grade 7 from each subject. Within the LSE SU Polish Business Society, together with Cezary, she is coordinating the workshops organised during the Polish Economic Forum. She enjoys good books, especially reportages, and finding elegant answers to (not only mathematical) questions.

Marcin Polak, Sponsorship and Partnership Officer

BSc Management
Marcin is a first year student of BSc Management at the London School of Economics. His interests vary from geography and politics to football and playing the guitar. Willing to contribute to Poland’s development, he has engaged in the LSE SU Polish Business Society’s activities by becoming a part of the team responsible for relations with our sponsors and partners.

Mateusz Popek, Logistics Officer

BSc Accounting and Finance
Mateusz comes from Gdynia, where he has spent the majority of his life. He participated in the IB Diploma Programme at III LO im. Marynarki Wojennej. After graduating from high school, he moved to the UK to study Accounting and Finance at the London School of Economics and Political Science. As a member of the LSE SU PBS, Mateusz is responsible for logistics and event management.

Lidia Staroń, Branding Officer

MSc Regional and Urban Planning Studies
Lidia, originally from Bielsko-Biała, trained as an architect in Wrocław (Poland) and in Valencia (Spain). Her interest in cities and development can now be widened by pursuing a Master’s degree at LSE. She recently joined the Planning Department in the London Borough of Islington. In her free time she enjoys travelling, dancing and drawing.

Aleksandra Szczęsna, Scholarship Fund and Educational Consulting Officer

MSc Management Science
Ola previously completed BSc Quantitative Methods in Economics in Warsaw and came to London to do a Master’s in Management Science. In her spare time, she enjoys surfing and has recently started playing rugby. This year, as a member of the LSE SU PBS team, she is responsible for the scholarship programme and can’t wait to see more Poles at LSE.

Katarzyna Szymańska, Scholarship Fund and Educational Consulting Officer

BSc Statistics with Finance
Kasia is working on coordinating a scholarship programme for study at LSE and keeping prospective students up to date with the application process. She was born and raised in Gdańsk, where she graduated from a bilingual class in High School no. 3 and Business Week Programmes. She has been awarded a Fahrenheit Scholarship funded by the Mayor of Gdańsk. She devotes her free time to playing volleyball.

Maciej Zasada, Sponsorship and Partnership Officer

LLB Bachelor of Laws
Maciej is a first year Law student at LSE. His main interests cover the topics of the economy and international relations. Having gained initial experience while being president of the student council in high school, he is now responsible for liaising with our partners and sponsors in the LSE SU PBS. In the meantime, Maciej is a keen fencer and former member of the Polish national fencing team.

Adrianna Wojnarowicz, Entertainment Officer

MSc Real Estate Economics and Finance
Adrianna is an MSc Real Estate Economics and Finance student. She was an organiser of the 6th edition of the Congress of Polish Student Societies in the UK. She is also a former president of Polish Society in Warwick. In the LSE SU PBS she is an events coordinator, working hard to ensure that all the guests will have a memorable experience during the Ivy Poland Foundation Ball. Above all she is passionate about salsa dancing and playing the piano.

Jan Żurawski, Marketing Officer

MSc Global Politics
As a student of MSc Global Politics, Jan is strongly interested in international relations, world trade and the political economy of development. He enjoys competitive running and fanatically supports Arsenal, which he hopes will finally dominate European football. Although he loves London, Jan plans to eventually come back to Warsaw and contribute to his hometown’s development.
